   Az első rész a legjobb találatokat sorolja fel, megadva az E értékeket. 1e-50 (1 x 10 -50 ) érték alatt (kékkel jelezve) az illesztett szekvencia nagy valószinűséggel rokon a kérdéses szekvenciával ( » 2.5.2. fejezet). A pirossal jelzett első sor jelzi, hogy a beküldött szekvencia már megtalálható az nr adatbázisban. A második részben láthatóak az illesztések és további adatok ( Identities, Positives, Gaps ) a hasonlóság jellemzésére. Az XXXXXXX  jelzi, hogy a kérdéses részlet, alacsony komplexitása miatt, kiszűrésre került ( » 2.5.5. fejezet). Minden homológ fehérje regisztrációs száma megtalálható a felsorolásban, így könnyen lekérhetjük. Ha a BLAST web változatát használjuk és az eredményt HTML formában kérjük,  a megfelelő fehérjerekordot egy kattintással megkaphatjuk.
